Standards and legislation

G4S has played a leading role in many of Ireland's national standards.

As a market leader G4S Ireland has played a leading role in many of our industry's national standards.

Our senior management executives have participated in the development of Irish Standard 999:2004 for Guarding Services, and many other national and European standards covering Alarm Receiving Centres (I.S.228:1997), Intruder Alarm Systems (E.N. 50131), CCTV Systems (E.N. 50132), Access Control Systems (E.N. 50133), and Cash Services (I.S. 998).

2004 saw the introduction of the Government's licensing requirements under the Private Security Services Act 2004. All G4S operational divisions are currently licensed under P.S.A Licence number 00530.
