State of the art Dublin Criminal Courts of Justice open three months ahead of schedule Add this

12 January 2010

The Criminal Courts of Justice, Dublin, for which G4S Integrated Services holds the facilities management contract, opened last month to its first court case, three months ahead of schedule.

G4S Integrated Services, which specialises in integrated facilities management and specialist support services in critical environments, will deliver a comprehensive range of essential facilities management and lifecycle services to the new Courts as part of the consortium responsible for the design and construction of this iconic building.

As part of a 25 year contract over 70 G4S employees will provide services including: catering, cleaning, energy management, lifecycle and asset management, office waste management, pest control, portering, post services, planned and reactive maintenance, reception, telephony and helpdesk services, reprographics, security, traffic and car park management, utilities management and window cleaning.

G4S took an active part in the design process of the courts, with the facilities management operational concept influenced by the expertise developed through award winning PFI projects to which G4S already provide services, such as GCHQ and Manchester Magistrates Courts in the UK.

Chris Elliott, Group Managing Director G4S Integrated Services, commented: “As one of the key partners on this project worth €291m net in present terms, we will play an integral role in the lifecycle operation of this building. We are very please to be a part of this successful project and look forward to fulfilling our facilities management responsibilities to the highest possible standard.”

Chief Executive Officer of the Court Services, Mr Brendan Ryan BL added; “This is the largest investment in a Courts Public Private Partnership building for the Irish Government and is already a landmark building on the gateway from the Phoenix Park to the centre of Dublin. All of our partners can be extremely proud of getting this project off the ground and way ahead of schedule"

The Courts which have already heard their first cases will be officially opened by President of Ireland Mary McAllese this month.
