Overview
Thomond Park in Limerick is famous for its Munster Rugby Team and is home to the twice winners of the Heineken Cup. Since re- opening in September 2008 G4S Ireland has been the security and stewarding provider at the stadium.
With a doubling of spectator capacity from 13,000 the stadium provides a venue that caters not only for spor ting events, but also concer ts, corporate events and tours from visitors to the stadium and its museum.
With 20 Corporate Boxes and four Corporate Suites,Thomond Park Stadium can cater for various sized par ties, from intimate gatherings and board meetings to large-scale conferences and functions.
Staffing & Services
For major events, G4S Ireland provides over 300 security officers, stewards and managers at the stadium. Pre-planning begins when our management team are provided with an annual listing of events being held at the stadium. Planning details improve the nearer we get to the event so that on the day itself all personnel, supervisory and management staff are fully briefed on the tasks at hand.
On an event day G4S Ireland provides a wide range of service solutions that includes:
- car park management
- attendee management including ticket scanning at turnstiles and reception areas
- patrolling of seating decks
- monitoring activities at all hospitality suites, bars and refreshment areas
- VIP accreditation
- Playing pitch protection
- Access control for players’ dressing rooms,
- Adherence to local Ground Regulations
Event Management Dedicated teams are allocated to each stand in order to handle incidents that might arise. We closely work with other agencies including the Gardaí, the Fire Depar tment, Civil Defence, the Red Cross and the mid- Western Ambulance Service in order to successfully manage any incidents efficiently and quickly. We supply and manage the high specification radio system that allows immediate communication between all G4S personnel as well as other sub-contractors on site. This allows for the immediate relay of information to the Gardaí or other relevant agencies when an incident requires attention. A unique offering is the implementation of our Over-C leading edge technology that communicates with selected staff, managing their work tasks and tracking completion of those tasks in real-time. It monitors each person on duty and tracks through RFID technologies their presence at specifically dedicated locations.This same technology will allow the site management team to electronically send specific tasks to staff. Speed to quickly access specific danger areas is impor tant at Thomond. We achieve this by using a dedicated Segway motorised transporter.
